Floatation therapy

Hindustan Times (Patna) - Live - - Variety -

In this therapy, the body is freed from all sensations. You are cut off from the effects of gravity, as the density of water is increased (by adding salts), and you feel weightless. You are also deprived of sensing the water’s temperature as it is adjusted to be the same as that of your body temperature. Floatation therapy is usually carried out in a ‘float pod’, which also cuts off sound and light. As a result, about 90% of a person’s normal neuromuscular activity is restricted. This means that your energy is deviated towards other requirements of the body, like healing from injury, or recovery from stress and trauma. This process expedites recuperation.
