I enjoy my work now: Manoj Bajpayee

Hindustan Times (Patna) - Live - - Variety -

Manoj Bajpayee’s (right) two-decadelong career has been an interesting mix of commercial and niche films, but the actor says it is now that he is enjoying his work as it is not as intense as it used to be. The 46-year-old says after so many years of hard work, he is confident about his craft. “I am enjoying acting now. I am loving every moment of it. Earlier I used to be worried about several things. Now after so many years of hard work, I know exactly know how to approach things. I have learnt to live beyond the shooting time of my films,” Bajpayee says.

The actor’s last screen outing Tevar, was a box office dud. But Bajpayee is not bothered because his character was appreciated. “People said watch Tevar for Manoj Bajpayee. For me, that appreciation is a reward. Look at the scope of acting that the character in the film allowed me. So I sort of changed the popular belief that the bad guy is supposed to be hated.” Asked if he likes to do a film of a particular genre, he says, “It is the director’s job. Not mine. I have to look for a good script. Be it mainstream, niche, independent or parallel, it does not matter,” he adds.
