Travel on Vidya’s mind

Apart from be­ing part of films based on di­verse sub­jects, Vidya Balan is also quite ver­sa­tile in terms of the brands she en­dorses. The ac­tor, who is the face of a few ap­parel and food brands in In­dia, and is brand am­bas­sador of the na­tional san­i­ta­tion cam­paign, has now been ap­proached to en­dorse a travel web­site.

“The own­ers of a web­site have ap­proached Vidya, as they want her to be the face of their lat­est cam­paign, which will pro­mote In­dian states as travel des­ti­na­tions. They thought that she is apt for it,” says a source, adding that the rea­son why the own­ers thought of hav­ing her on board was that apart from sport­ing In­dian hand­looms and tex­tiles, Vidya is also very pop­u­lar in small towns.

Ap­par­ently, the ac­tor has met the web­site own­ers, and plans to as­so­ciate with them. “She likes the con­cept of the cam­paign. She will have to travel to seven In­dian states soon af­ter com­ing on board. She will then high­light the tra­di­tion of each state, its cui­sine and even sport the tra­di­tional out­fit of the place. But, the deal is yet to be locked,” says the source.
