You’ve got male
An upcoming two-day showcase, Van Heusen GQ Fashion Nights, to be held in the city, will celebrate the works of some of India’s top designers. The debut edition of the event aims to put Mumbai on the global map, alongside sartorial hubs like London, UK, and Paris, France, and will focus solely on men’s fashion.
The event will be held on December 1 and 2 at one of the most prominent fivestar hotels in the city, and will see names such as the prince of bandhgala — Raghavendra Rathore, dream team — Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna, and the new face of androgyny, Antar-Agni. The line-up also includes designer duo Shantanu and Nikhil, Troy Costa, Dhruv Kapoor, and Rajesh Pratap Singh.
Sharing his thoughts on the new annual property, Che Kurrien, Editor, GQ, says, “It gives me great pride to introduce Van Heusen GQ Fashion Nights that will showcase the best menswear created in this country, giving it absolute primacy and prominence,” adding, “This initiative will not only set a grand stage for Indian menswear designers, but also reflects the financial clout wielded by a vast market that has seen explosive growth in recent years. This unprecedented boom has been fuelled by a transformation in attitudes among Indian men about fashion. And we’d like to think that GQ has had a hand in driving this change.”
