I’ve always been immune to it (stardom), but it was new for me to experience it for myself Arjun Kapoor, actor

He has a few hits to his credit and a loyal fan following, but actor Arjun Kapoor says that considering his family background, he grew up with stardom all around him, so the limelight never felt new. However, he says that it took time to get used to the cameras focussing on him.

“As I have grown up around it (stardom), it never felt new. I have always been immune to it, but it was new for me to experience it for myself. I had always been a third person... the viewer of stardom, and when I experienced it myself, it took me some time to adjust,” says the son of filmmaker Boney Kapoor, and nephew of actor Anil Kapoor.

Another thing the 30-year-old has learned about stardom is that it is not all rosy, and has disadvantages too. “It unnerves you that a lot of people recognise you now. A lot of people give you warmth and love. The lack of privacy takes some time to adjust to, but you get used to it,” he says.
