‘This girl said if I don’t give her `5crore, she’d ruin my career’
Singer Mika Singh issued a statement late Tuesday night following reports which said that a molestation complaint was filed against the Gandi Baat hitmaker.
A Mumbai-based model filed a complaint at the city’s Versova Police Station, accusing Mika of falsely promising her acting and modelling jobs. “A woman named Priyanka Kumar filed an FIR against Mika Singh on Tuesday evening. It’s a case of molestation,” a police official was quoted as saying.
Taking quick action, Mika issued a statement the same night, claiming that he did not even know the model. “Today morning at around 5am, one girl barged into my premises by entering through the window and started abusing and assaulting me and my staff. She threatened that if I don’t pay her `5 crore, she’d ruin my career and register a false case against me,” read the 39-year-old’s statement.
“I’ve already informed the police in writing regarding the threats and extortion. I don’t know who this girl is. I have evidence against her demanding money from me. Police is investigating the matter and truth will be out,” the statement read further.
A police official says an altercation broke out between the two. “The model has stated that Mika grabbed her by the hair and pushed her around. He also assaulted her,” the official was quoted as saying.
