From cricketer MS Dhoni to Mohammad Azharuddin, Bollywood is going big on biopics. Adding to the trend, actor Irrfan Khan (left) has said whoever reprises the role of RD Burman in a biopic on the legendary music composer will be lucky.

Irrfan was speaking at the reality show where he was asked which actor will be suitable for the biopic, and he said, “How can I say who will be suitable? But a biopic on him should be made. He has had a brilliant journey. Who will be that lucky person to play him and who will be that lucky director to present the story, it is a great thing.”

The 77th birth anniversary of the late composer was celebrated by his wife singer Asha Bhosle with a musical event a few days ago.

Reportedly, filmmakers have been planning a biopic on him. Director-actor Farhan Akhtar had said that he would like to do biopic on him.

About RD Burman’s music, Irrfan said, “He brought a different kind of music from the kind of music that was going on. He had his own style. The masti in his songs lifts your heart up which was his own forte. His kind of music wasn’t there before him and neither after him. RD was RD.” Ask him about his favourite RD Burman song and he says, “I really like his songs from Sholay.”
