At a time when many actors such as Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra are making their mark in Hollywood, actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui (left) says that he has no such aspirations as yet. He says, “It’s not that yeh log bahut ache actors hai isiliye select ho rahe hain (for Hollywood). Wahaan pe selection ka criteria hai ki aapko agent rakhna padhta hai. The fact that you have an agent, is why you are selected. Mera koi agent nai hai, agar mujhe thappa lagwana hoga, toh agent rakh lunga,” he adds.

“People feel that just because they are acting in a Hollywood film, they are good actors. This is not true. We also have great films being made here with good actors,” he adds.

He also says that there are many small films which are appreciated at various festivals, it’s important that these films make money at the box office. “There are so many films which do well at festivals, but then they lose out at the box office. What you present should be so interesting that it gets critically appreciated and also makes money,” says Nawazuddin.
