Hindustan Times (Patna) - Live - - Entertainment - Samarth Goyal You said that you will never work with Yo Yo Honey Singh. There has been quite a public acknowledgment of a rift between you two. Why do you think you and Yo Yo cannot work again? samarth.goyal@hindustantimes.com

Musician Raftaar (right) has become a household name with hits such as Swag Mera Desi and All Black. The Kerala born rapper has become quite popular with his unique style of music and recently released his single Instagram Love. In a candid interview Raftaar talks to us about his new single, his best single, till date, and how Honey Singh hurt him. Excerpts: I appreciate his music but I have said again and again that I have a personal rift with him. I was hurt and I made a point that he knew it. Main Thook Ke Nahi Chaatta. I still wish that he recovers and gets healthy again.

What’s the song Instagram Love about?

Its about the new generation’s idea of falling in love. I am still old school but this is what is happening around us. Instagram is almost like a dating site these days Social media has changed people’s outlook and it’s the social pressure that makes all this happen.

Which single till date has received the best response in your opinion and why ?

My fans have always loved and supported me. Swag Mera Desi made an impact and carved the way for Raftaar and I became the reason as to why I stand out.

Has Raftaar found his sound yet?

Raftaar’s sound is the non commercial music I make. Honest lyrics. The commercial market will never have a stagnant sound. Change is the law of the universe and I stay up to date.

I appreciate his music but I have said again and again that I have a personal rift with him. I was hurt and I made a point. RAFTAAR, SINGER
