Here in the Capital, a large number of Delhiites were present at the French Embassy in the Capital on Thursday evening, on the occasion of Bastille Day. This news is heart breaking,” says designer Ritu Kumar. This morning, in such a moment of distress for my country, this friendship is all the more appreciated and cherished.” Dancer Shovana Narayan, who was also present at the event, says, “This bloodshed is not going to get us anywhere. I hope sanity prevails.”
Meanwhile, designers from the Capital who often show their work in France, like Ritu Beri, Suneet Varma and Rahul Mishra are shocked. “Paris is fashion capital of the world, its like our second home. In fact I am scheduled to present at the Paris Fashion Week this October. These acts put a strain on the relationship that countries and the fashion fraternities build with each other,” says Mishra. “France is like second home to me. The act of terror is really sad and pathetic. My heart goes out to the families affected,” adds Beri.
