Even amid chock-a-block schedules, one can squeeze in some time for birthday celebrations, right? Priyanka Chopra had a working birthday (July 18). But not without a party, she says, speaking to us from New York, USA, where she had been working non-stop since five in the morning.

“I had an insane weekend. My mum, my brother and some of my friends are here (for my birthday). The cast of my TV show (Quantico; American series) also joined in for the party. I never have parties for my birthday. Last year, my mum threw a surprise bash. This year, my friends did, though it wasn’t a surprise,” says PeeCee.

Is it tough to buy gifts for someone like her? “(Laughs) no, thoughtful gifts are always welcome. Most of my friends know that about me. Like a friend gave me caviar and potato chips, as they know I love them. I got such sweet, thoughtful gifts,” says the actor, who posted a picture (inset) on Instagram, showing

just how many birthday presents she was showered with.

“Feels like xmas morning.. But it’s birthday night. Thank you all.. I feel very loved... Even after a 16 hour day on set I feel so blessed and grateful. Here’s to everyone who loves me and supports me. I am because of you. #blessed (sic),” wrote Priyanka, who likes to treat her birthday as any other day. “For me, it’s just another day. But people who love me remind me that they care about me on this day. It feels good to be loved and cared about,” she says.
