Family support keeps Alia Bhatt going

Hindustan Times (Patna) - Live - - HTCITY LIFESTYLE -

Actor Alia Bhatt (right) says there is an underlying feeling of insecurity in the world of glitz and glamour, with many factors making “you wary about your position”.

Alia’s filmography is like a Bollywood report card of a bright student. Since her debut project Student of the Year in 2012, she has delivered laudable performances in films like Highway, 2 States, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Kapoor and Sons and Udta Punjab. Her only setback was last year’s Shaandaar.

Asked about the insecurities a star has, Alia said: “The pressure to perform with each film, and for the film to do well at the box office make one feeling insecure and vulnerable. But the only way to deal with it is support from family and friends,” says the daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and yesteryear actor Soni Razdan. “Then, I think you have to enjoy your work... I am a serious worker, but I don’t take myself seriously and that’s important,” adds Alia.
