Beignet is a type of deep­fried choux pas­try which can be made from a dough con­tain­ing yeast. Orig­i­nated in France and now most fa­mous in New Or­leans, USA, it’s the most com­mon break­fast ser­rved with loads of pow­dered sugar on the top.
