One of showbiz’s most interesting and lucrative friendships has come to an end. After two films together — Chennai Express (2013) and Dilwale (2015) — director Rohit Shetty and actor Shah Rukh Khan have broken partnership.

It was decided that Rohit and Shah Rukh would be doing a third film together. In fact, Shetty’s next film was meant to be with SRK again. But now he’s doing another Golmaal film with his best friend in the industry, actor Ajay Devgn.

A source close to the development says, “The film that Shah Rukh and Rohit were supposed to do together next is now shelved. They both hold each other responsible for the failure of Dilwale. Rohit feels Shah Rukh made a big mistake releasing Dilwale on the same Friday as Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani. Shah Rukh feels Rohit didn’t work hard enough on Dilwale. The parting has not been amicable.”

However, neither Shah Rukh nor Shetty has spoken about their fallout as yet.
