History repeats itself, and so does fashion. This time, it’s in the form of the 90s staple highrise jeans. A number of Bollywood fashionistas are ditching the (American popstar) Britney Spearsinspired low-rise denims in the favour of the so called ‘mom jeans.’ Style gurus say the trend is here to stay. “High-waisted jeans are one of the hottest trend for the season globally. With the likes of American model Kendall Jenner endorsing the style, it’s going to hit the streets soon,” says fashion designer Nikhil Mehra. The popularity of high-rise jeans is their flattering fit. “A figure-accentuating garment will always be loved by women,” says designer Troy Costa. Stylist Vikram Seth agrees. “These jeans are too good to pass up. They are feminine and that’s why they are being embraced again by fashion lovers,” he says.
