Poke­mon Go is be­ing used twice as much as Face­book

The mas­sive pop­u­lar­ity of the aug­mented re­al­ity game Poke­mon Go has bro­ken many a record. While on a daily ba­sis, it is be­ing used twice as much as the Face­book app on An­droid, the in­sanely popular app from Niantic Labs has the most first-week down­loads since Ap­ple launched its iOS app store eight years ago.

Dur­ing its first week, Poke­mon Go users spent about 75 min­utes per day play­ing it, ver­sus only 35 min­utes on the Face­book app, re­ports Forbes. com cit­ing in­for­ma­tion from 7Park Data, pulled from a multi-mil­lion panel of anony­mous US An­droid users.

When com­par­ing daily us­age, the week be­fore and the week after Poke­mon Go's re­lease, 7Park Data dis­cov­ered that the game caused daily us­age for YouTube to drop by nine per­cent and daily us­age of Snapchat to drop by 18 per­cent.

The aug­mented re­al­ity game has also be­come the most down­loaded mo­bile app in its first week of re­lease in the his­tory of the app store, re­ported The Verge, with con­fir­ma­tion from Ap­ple.
