Working on her first film with Shah Rukh Khan, Alia Bhatt can’t stop raving about the star

Hindustan Times (Patna) - Live - - ENTERTAINMENT - Subhash K Jha

Actor Alia Bhatt (right) who has just finished working with actor Shah Rukh Khan (below) in Gauri Shinde’s upcoming film, is all praise for her co-star. She says, “Shah Rukh is magic. His words, his persona, his eyes when he looks into the camera….He is such a delight to work with!”

Alia found SRK to be an extremely co-operative co-star. “He has tremendous regard for everyone’s work. He is Shah Rukh Khan. But he doesn’t let that fact weigh him or others down.He doesn’t let anyone feel unimportant. Everyone on the sets was equally important for him, be it a technician or a co-star.”

As for the age difference, Alia didn’t think about it at all. She says, “Not for a minute did I feel Shah Rukh was older. We worked like friends. But when he spoke I felt very young in front of him. He is so knowledgeable. He knows so much more than me. He makes every anecdote every incident from his life sound so interesting . I just loved to sit and chat with him in-between shots.”

When asked whether she feels that her young age is a hindrance, she says, “In my head I am 32. Mentally, I feel like I am an older person. I also use it as per my convenience. So, when I want to be childish, I say, ‘But I am so young’. Sometimes, I look at myself from a third person’s point of view, and think, ‘Alia you are a child’. But in reality, with the way I sit and behave, I feel much older. When I am hanging out with Karan Johar (director), I feel like a child. I act more like a grandmother to my mother and my father.”
