Jayalalithaaji conducted herself through the maledominated world of Indian politics with such grace and dignity. And that hint of a smile which never surrendered into laughter was symbolic of her restrained conduct in politics. She was truly the Iron Lady of Indian politics. That’s what they called Margaret Thatcher. That’s what Jayalalithaaji was…Tamil Nadu’s beloved Amma,” says actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha, remembering the late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister.

He implores Tamil Nadu to stay calm. “Mourn her going peacefully... She was far too dignified to endorse rowdy behaviour.” Recalling an incident when he was the Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Shotgun shares, “I needed assistance of an IPS officer from the Tamil Nadu cadre, but was finding it difficult to get him transferred. I spoke to Jayalalithaji, and the work was done instantly... A lesson learnt: In Indian politics, too much time is wasted.”
