It’s veteran actor Dharmendra’s birthday today. “I’m an 18-year-old young man who has turned 81,” he quips. Ask him where’s the party tonight, and he shares that since losing his mother, he doesn’t celebrate much. “I remember her, the family does a havan at home and well-wishers come over to meet me. I’ve got a lot of love in my life. Chahat hi boi hai jo ab kat rahi hai (I sowed love and that’s what I’m reaping).”

From being the chocolate boy of films to getting the He-Man tag, marrying co-star Hema Malini after a much-publicised affair to being the effervescent Garam Dharam even in films he does now, he’s had an illustrious life, one that calls for a biopic. But Dharmendra’s not up for it. “Although my story is full of everything, ups and downs and so much love from the audience, I don’t want a biopic,” he says.
