TAIKA WAITITI TO CO-DI­RECT MOVIE ON MICHAEL JACK­SON

Film­maker Taika Waititi (far right) who will co-di­rect Bub­bles, a script de­tail­ing the life of leg­endary pop singer Michael Jack­son (right) from the point of view of his beloved pet mon­key.

The 41-year-old direc­tor will helm the stopan­i­ma­tion fea­ture with film­maker Mark Gustafson, which is ex­pected to re­sem­ble the 2015 film Ano­ma­l­isa, con­firmed The Hol­ly­wood Re­porter.

About the film, Waititi said he was not in­ter­ested in mak­ing a biopic on the singer but wanted to nar­rate a story about how an an­i­mal tries to fig­ure out life among hu­mans.

“It’s about a chim­panzee’s fas­ci­nat­ing jour­ney through the com­plex jun­gle of hu­man life. I think animation is the only way to ap­proach a story like this,” said Waititi.
