TAIKA WAITITI TO CO-DIRECT MOVIE ON MICHAEL JACKSON
Filmmaker Taika Waititi (far right) who will co-direct Bubbles, a script detailing the life of legendary pop singer Michael Jackson (right) from the point of view of his beloved pet monkey.
The 41-year-old director will helm the stopanimation feature with filmmaker Mark Gustafson, which is expected to resemble the 2015 film Anomalisa, confirmed The Hollywood Reporter.
About the film, Waititi said he was not interested in making a biopic on the singer but wanted to narrate a story about how an animal tries to figure out life among humans.
“It’s about a chimpanzee’s fascinating journey through the complex jungle of human life. I think animation is the only way to approach a story like this,” said Waititi.
