Nori is the Ja­panese name for ed­i­ble sea­weed species of the red al­gae genus Py­ropia.

Wasabi is a green coloured paste made from the Ja­panese plant with thick green root. It tastes like strong horse­rad­ish.

Sushi is as­sem­bled by plac­ing a sheet of Nori on top of a bam­boo mat, known as Mak­isu. The heap­ing of rice, veg­eta­bles, and fish is com­pressed to cre­ate a cylin­dri­cal shape, which is cut into pieces.
