Carey bounces back after NYE disaster
Pop star Mariah Carey (above) made a successful comeback with a live performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! her first since her now infamous New Year’s Eve disaster. She hit headlines when her backing track forced her to give up on her live televised performance on the Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve show, reported People magazine. But her return to the stage went smoothly as she hit the US late night talk show to belt out new track I Don’t, alongside rapper YG and a live band.
Dressed in a figure-hugging red dress, Carey looked confident as she performed the song, inspired from her break-up from fiance James Packer.
Post the NYEs disaster, Carey took a break from social media. She recently tweeted, “I haven’t addressed what happened on New Year’s Eve. I came for it in New York in great spirits. It’s a shame that we were put into the hands of a production team with technical issues who chose to capitalise on circumstances beyond our control.”
