The 89th Academy Awards this year were not just about awarding films and those associated with it, but much more than that.

Commenced by Justin Timberlake, who performed his song, Cant Get Enough, the night’s most moving moment was when American singer, Sara Bareilles sang Joni Mitchell’s Both Sides Now, while Hollywood paid a moving tribute to the legends who died last year. The tribute included Indian actor Om Puri as well.

However, the ceremony wasn’t just about tears. Host Jimmy Kimmel’s constant witty jokes and pranks kept the crowd chuckling. He even pranked on a group of tourists and wanted them to walk into the auditorium. The tourists in disbelief, ignored Kimmel and took photos of the celebs in the front row. The highlight of the surprise was when actor Denzel Washington got up and pronounced a tourist couple as husband and wife.
