‘No-interaction’ clause for Sunil to return on Kapil’s show? No truth in it

PEOPLE HAVE APPROACHED SUNIL GROVER FROM BOTH THE TV CHANNEL AND KAPIL SHARMA’S TEAM, BUT TO NO AVAIL, SAYS A SOURCE

The Kapil Sharma-Sunil Grover saga continues. After their mid-air spat, Sunil (inset) quit the comedian’s TV show, The Kapil Sharma Show, but rumours about his return keep cropping up. The latest rumour is: the TV channel has spoken with Sunil about returning to the show, which has lost viewership, on the condition that he wouldn’t have to interact with Kapil (left). We’ve learnt that Sunil has no intention to return.

A source says, “People have approached Sunil from the channel and Kapil’s team, but [there’s] no conclusion. It’s speculated that Sunil might be offered his own show on the channel, but that was never his intention when he quit Kapil’s show. As for the ‘no interaction with Kapil’ clause, how’s that possible when the show is called The Kapil Sharma Show? No such offer has been made by anyone. [Sunil] is overwhelmed by the support he has received. He isn’t planning to do anything right now [about the issue].”

Sunil quit after a drunk Kapil allegedly assaulted him on a flight. Sunil’s contract with the channel is due for renewal, and the channel has reportedly given Kapil a month to regain ratings.

Meanwhile, Sunil will join actor Sunny Leone for live IPL commentary from April 13.

He was unavailable for comment, but said through an April 5 tweet: “My intentions are to act and to entertain with dignity .... Money can’t be the only reason to do something, or not to do something.”
