Amber is better but medical emergency remains unclear
After an abrupt exit from an awards gala after suffering an apparent medical emergency on Friday, Hollywood actor Amber
Heard (above) is resting at home, reports entertainment portal tmz.com.
The 30-year-old was to receive an award at the unite4: humanity gala — an event known for honouring the philanthropic work of celebrities. But before her big moment, she fell ill and left the venue midway through the ceremony. It wasn’t clear if she went to a hospital or went home, reported E! online.
TMZ has reported that Amber’s better, but missing the gala was upsetting for her.
After Amber’s exit, British model Cara Delevingne and American authorp hotographer iO Tillett Wright had taken to the stage to accept the award on her behalf.
Amber was feted for her humanitarian work with the American Civil Liberties Union. “Our dear friend Amber unfortunately suffered a bit of an emergency earlier this evening and she had to go,” iO had said. The award was presented by Ayaan Hirsi Ali, a Somali-born Dutch activist, and apparently a huge hero of Amber’s. “To know that Ayaan was here and for her to have to leave anyway means that it was a very serious emergency. We both are hoping that she’s okay,” she added.
