MCCARTHY RETURNS TO SNL AS WHITE HOUSE PRESS SECRETARY
Just when one thought Sean Spicer’s Hitler gaffe won’t make the headlines anymore, American actor Melissa McCarthy (above) came up with Saturday Night Live (SNL; TV show) to reprise her impression of the White House press secretary.
For the unversed, Spicer, during a briefing on April 11, mistakenly declared that Adolf Hitler did not use gas on his own people and then bizarrely added that Hitler brought the Jews to Holocaust centers. However, according to CNN, he later apologised for the verbal debacle.
On SNL, McCarthy came out in a bunny suit referring to Spicer, who played the Easter Bunny at one of the White House’s Easter Egg Roll events, during the George W. Bush administration. “Everybody shut up so I can apologise. Yes, you all got your wish this week, didn’t you? Spicy finally made a mistake ... I clearly meant to say ‘concentration clubs,’ OK? I’d also like you to know that I’m sensitive to the fact that they were sent there on trains. Hey, at least, they didn’t have to fly United, am I right?” she said.
CNN reports that the show created history on Saturday, by airing live in whole of the US, for the first time.
