Dad or brother, who’s Varun’s favourite?

Hindustan Times (Patna) - Live - - Front Page - Prashant Singh

Actor Varun Dhawan has worked with his father, David Dhawan (in Main Tera Hero; 2013 and is currently shooting for Judwaa 2) and his elder brother, Rohit Dhawan (in Dishoom; 2016). Ask him, if given an option, who he would prefer to work with and he says, “I can’t choose. It will be very wrong for me to choose between them. First of all, I think it’s wrong to compare Rohit with dad. But I feel, for any director who has made just two films, he is right up there among the best that any actor can work with.”

The Badrinakth Ki Dulhania actor reveals that he “had to actually beg Rohit” to be in his film because “he refused to consider me for any of his films.” “I had to tell him that, ‘I really want to work (with him) and I think we will do a good job,” says Varun, adding that the one similarity that his father and brother have is that they “aren’t difficult people” to please on the set.

“It’s just that you have to do a scene differently. If you do anything half-heartedly, then they won’t be okay. I remember, in Dishoom, he made me do 16 takes of an action scene wherein I had to jump over a car. Then, he also made me run multiple times,” he says.
