Effortlessly cool and casual athleisure-inspired clothing and styles make for a great look this summer

There was a time when track pants, a loose T-shirt and a pair of sneakers was the look everyone called gym wear. But things don’t seem to be so simple anymore. With international brands and designers melding exercise and casual clothing, going for an athleisure-inspired outfit would be a good idea this summer.

Celebrities in the West have often been spotted looking comfy and stylish in athleisure clothing. Some of the best examples include the Hadid sisters, Gigi (left) and Bella; Kendall Jenner, Beyoncé, Kanye West, and Rihanna. Bollywood stars are in on the trend as well, with actors such as Kareena Kapoor Khan, Parineeti Chopra, Deepika Padukone and Shraddha Kapoor (far right) carrying off this comfortable look.

Shraddha told us that she’d rather dress in comfy clothing. “When I step out on a day-to-day basis, I prefer dressing in clothes that make me feel comfortable. I am a little obsessed with track pants, T-shirts and sneakers,” she said.

The popularity of athleisure clothing has risen, as people increasingly choose healthier lifestyles. On the other hand, sports-inspired clothes take away the stress of over dressing or wearing formal clothes and footwear.
