Social messages through a rib-tickling comedy

He has been seen in action films and has even tried his hand at romance on screen. But now, Dr Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan, who made his debut in Bollywood with MSG: The Messenger of God (2015), will be seen in a comedy role with his new film, Jattu Engineer.

The film is about a typical Indian village, backward in every sense, and what follows is a transformation of this village into an ideal one, with the efforts of two central characters – the ultradisciplined headmaster Shakti Singh Sisodia and the hilarious Sghaint Singh Sidhu, both played by Gurmeet Insan.

In the garb of comedy, the film has some enlightening messages about cleanliness, open defecation and alcoholism. It also presents a model for a self-sustaining village. This is a refreshing comic tale that also compels you to act and change your immediate surroundings, claim the makers. Its unique theme and comic timing of the characters brings back an era where situational and raw comedy was the crux of entertainment.

The film is in stark contrast to the current crop of comedy films that often centre around adult comedy. Jattu Engineer promises to entertain with its simplicity of content and humour that will have you in splits. Directed by father-daughter duo, Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan and

Honey preet Insan, Jattu Engineer releases on May 19.
