OF SNAGS AND STUNNERS

A technical snag at the screening of Okja struck a discordant note at the third day at Cannes

The third day of Cannes Film Festival saw an unusual glitch during the screening of the film Okja. However, the stunning appearances of celebs seemed to overshadow everything.

Donning elegant gowns and dapper suits actors walked the red carpet. Though the screening of the Netflix series, directed by Boon Joon-ho, brought together stars like Rihanna, Lily Collins, Jake Gyllenhaal and Bella Hadid, a technical error at the screening dampened the excitement. The authorities at Cannes took responsibility for the disruption and issued a statement that said, “This incident was entirely the responsibility of the festival’s technical service, which offers its apologies to the director and his team, to the producers and the audience.” While singer Rihanna made her red carpet debut in a pristine white gown paired with a white jacket, model Bella Hadid, went for a quilted red gown, pairing it with a snake silver neck piece. Actor and jury member Jessica Chastain, wearing a lilac gown, became the perfect muse for the shutterbugs. Accompanied by composer A R Rahman, actor Shruti Haasan made her second red carpet appearance for her film Sangamithra.
