Bollywood just happened to me: Ishita

Actor Ishita Dutta (right), who made her debut in Drishyam (2015) as Ajay Devgn’s daughter, did not intend to be a part of Bollywood. “I will always consider myself fortunate that Hindi films came my way. I did not make a conscious decision to audition for the movies that I have worked in. I was busy with my TV shows and Kannada movies. Bollywood just happened,” says Ishita, the younger sister of actor Tanushree Dutta. Having done a few Kannada films, Ishita feels that the biggest barrier, while doing Hindi films after regional cinema, is language. She says that this made her realise how difficult it would be for actors, who come from different nonHindi speaking countries, to act in Bollywood.

“I have so much respect for them because it is difficult to consciously remember your dialogues and to keep a look out for camera angles, emotions and lighting. It requires a lot of coordination,” she adds.
