Bhatt (above) is known for making films that strike a chord with the audience. However, he feels that a filmmaker can’t be expected to deliver only outstanding films throughout his career.

“I think, Bollywood has some very passionate people who have intense and engaging ideas,” says Bhatt. “Some make movies to just keep the pot boiling, and some weave stories to spread magic through cinema. But not everyone, all through his career, can create a film from their inner fabric of talent. How can a Mahesh Bhatt make an Arth (1982) Saransh (1984) and Daddy (1989) again and again?” adds Bhatt, who has also directed films such as Sadak (1991), and Hum Hai Rai Pyaar Ke (1993). He adds, “A filmmaker has only a limited number of films, which are evergreen. Not all movies will endure the desert of time.”
