DUTT PULLS OUT OF INDRA KUMAR’S FILM FRANCHISE

- Samarth Goyal

After starring in Dhamaal (2007) and Double Dhamaal (2011), actor Sanjay Dutt has decided against featuring in the third instalment — Total Dhamaal — in the franchise, reveals a source. Reason: Dutt doesn’t want his kids to see him in adult comedies.

“He wasn’t keen on the film’s content revolving around adult comedy. He is leaving no stone unturned to make up for all the lost time with his three children, Shahraan, Iqra and Trishala,” says the source.

Another reason why Dutt pulled out of the project is unavailability of dates. He recently wrapped up shooting for his comeback film, and will soon start working on the third instalment of Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster. “The actor has his calendar blocked until the shoot of Saheb Biwi... series, followed by Torbaaz,” the source adds.

Directed by Indra Kumar, the first instalment in the Dhamaal franchise also starred Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Jaaved Jaafrey and Ashish Chowdhry. Reports suggest that Riteish, too, might quit the series.
