The runway is an influencer of what rules the style roost. And, it isn’t only designer creations that impact trends — models too add to them. The new generation of male models sporting long hair on and off the runway are making a mark.

“Long hair makes these models stand out. It helps with the kind of attitude we want on the ramp. A lot of times, it depends on the concept, but it does add to the sexy factor,” says designer Dhruv Vaish. From Mun (man buns) to even dreadlocks — these models say, hair is a big part of their career.

“I wanted to try out longer hair, so I just kept growing it. The appreciation served as encouragement,” says model Rahi Chadda. Model Amit Ranjan, who has been sporting long hair since 2006, says it gave him work. “Back in the day, I was the only male model sporting long locks on the ramp and it caught attention. Now, the trend is big,” says Ranjan. Model

Mohit Nandal’s long hair adds to his work. “In my case, I grew it and it worked for me. Long hair looks amazing on a man if he knows how to pull it off,” he says.
