Gaua­har Khan’s short film gets global love

The ac­tor is elated that her movie, ti­tled Peanut But­ter, is get­ting a great re­sponse at in­ter­na­tional film fes­ti­vals as well as on­line. She is hope­ful of more love and sup­port

Ac­tor Gaua­har Khan’s (right) short film, Peanut But­ter, is win­ning ap­plause at in­ter­na­tional film fes­ti­vals. Af­ter Sil­i­con Val­ley Film Fes­ti­val, it will now be screened at The Ma­rina del Rey Film Fes­tiva and The Cul­ver City Film Fes­ti­val in Cal­i­for­nia, in Septem­ber and De­cem­ber, re­spec­tively.

“I’ve tried to make my char­ac­ter of Priya Mathur as real as pos­si­ble. I’m very ex­cited about the re­sponse, and happy that the film has been shown at so many pres­ti­gious in­ter­na­tional film fes­ti­vals,” says Gaua­har, who has ear­lier worked in tele­vi­sion and Bol­ly­wood.

The film, which talks about sin­gle par­ent­ing and abor­tion, has been di­rected by Manu Chobe, and is be­ing re­ceived well on­line, too. “Peanut But­ter has crossed 3 mil­lion views. I hope it re­ceives more love and sup­port,” says Gaua­har.
