Shilpa Shinde lied, used my name: Saumya
It has been a year since actor Shilpa Shinde (left) of Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain fame walked out of the TV show. A few months later, she filed a case of sexual harassment against Sanjay Kohli, co-producer of the show, also citing it as the reason for her exit. In March this year, she spoke about having confided in co-star and “friend” Saumya Tandon about Kohli’s intentions.
Saumya, who had back then only said that “there was no communication [about the allegations] between Shilpa and me,” now — in a chat with HT — calls it a blatant lie. “It’s not true at all. It is sad that she is using my name. I shared a very professional relationship with her. Also, I’m the kind of a person who is very confident about myself,” she says.
Shilpa had earlier said that on speaking to Saumya about the issue, the latter’s reaction was, “Humari industry mein koi rape nai karta, Shilpa.” Saumya recalls no such conversation, and goes on to add, “I’ve never noticed my producer (Kohli) having such intentions towards any woman on our sets. In fact, he rarely ever visits the sets, and never goes to any actor’s room or vanity van, so I didn’t experience any such thing.”
