Richa Chadha has been trolled on social media several times for voicing her opinion. However, she seems unperturbed by them. “One can’t pay too much attention to trolls. There are people who have lost their jobs due to the bad economy and need money,” says Richa, adding, “I know for a fact that people pay others to troll a public figure — political or otherwise.”

Instead of being angry at the trolls, the actor says that she feels bad for them. “I think bicharo ko kaam mil raha hai to kar le. Agar unko mereko do gaali de ke paisa mil raha hai to kama le paise, mera kya ja raha hai (I feel if they get some work and money by abusing me on the internet, so be it),” she says.

Recently, Richa came out in support of actors Priyanka Chopra, Fatima Sana Sheikh and Deepika Padukone, who were being slut-shammed on social media. About women being trolled for their attire or their behaviour, Richa says, “Before a major change happens, there is always some kind of an upheaval in the social milieu. People who have been used to a certain power structure or a completely patriarchal setup for a long time will be a shaken that women are coming out and doing their thing. That will change with time,” she says.
