Actor Saqib Saleem (right) has been romantically linked with actor Taapsee Pannu (inset) for quite some time now. The actor, however, says that Taapsee is nothing more than a “good friend”, and the two have never even thought about dating each other.

“I’m not dating her. Few people have asked me this question and this is what I keep telling them. Taapsee is my dearest friend, and there is nothing more than that,” says Saqib, who along with Taapsee featured in a music video titled Tum Ho Toh Lagta Hain that released in June last year. The two will soon share screen space again in a film.

Buzz of a possible romance between the two first surfaced in August last year, when tabloids reported that they went out for a romantic dinner on Taapsee’s birthday, in Mumbai. The photographs on their social media accounts sparked fresh rumours. However, Saqib dismissed these rumours.

“Woh bhi Dilli ki laundi hai, aur main bhi Dilli ka launda hun (She is a Delhi girl and I’m a Delhi boy). We are comfortable in each other’s company. She has an amazing sense of humour, and I love spending time with her. She is a chilled out person,” says the 29-year-old. “I keep telling her that she should behave like an actor. But she tells me she doesn’t have that vibe, and she can’t behave that way. That’s why I

say she is an easy person to be with. But, we aren’t dating except on-screen,” he says. ■ sa
