Asor­bet is a sweet­ened frozen dessert. Typ­i­cally, a sum­mer sta­ple, a sor­bet does not con­tain milk or cream. The origin of the name is the Per­sian word Shar­bat. Sor­bet flavours can range from citrus, fruity and juice­based to be­ing laced with liquor.
