American reality TV star Kim Kardashian (left) has responded to claims that she used blackface to promote her makeup line. After she had released promo photos of her new contouring kit, her fans claimed that her skin looked a lot darker than normal in the shots and accused her of using ‘blackface’.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star stated that she never had any intention to wear blackface for the photographs. She said she never wanted to offend anyone. “I was really tan when we shot the images, and it might be that the contrast was off,” Kim said. She added, “But I showed the image to many people in the business. No one brought that to our attention. No one mentioned it.” Kim said that she and her team had made necessary changes to all the photographs and vowed that it would never happen again.

She said, “Of course, I have the utmost respect for why people might feel the way they did. However, we saw the problem, and we changed it right away. Definitely, I have learned from it.” Kardashian isn’t the first person in her family to be accused of blackface. Her sister Kylie Jenner, was also slammed after uploading pictures where her skin appeared much darker due to blue-black bodypaint.
