Composer Ismail Darbar (above) is back in action. This time, he has composed the background score for Sanjay Dutt’s comeback film, Bhoomi. The film is being helmed by Omung Kumar. Ismail had last worked in Subhash Ghai’s Kaanchi: The Unbreakable (2014).

He shares that as he had wanted to work on the film, he got in touch with the makers and conveyed his wish. “I wait for the right film to come along. When I saw the rushes of Bhoomi, I was so touched and I told Sandeep Singh (the producer of the film) and Omung Kumar that I would do the background score. I have known the two for more than 15 years and they understand the kind of movies I enjoy giving music for. Music is my soul, it’s in my blood and Bhoomi touched the right chord,” says Ismail, who has earlier composed for films such as Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999) and Kisna: The Warrior Poet (2005).

As Singh had already worked with Ismail before, he was more than happy to have him on board for Bhoomi. “We all love his music sense. He is a legend. I am so happy that he composed the background score for the film,” he says.
