Hindustan Times (Patna) - Live - - Entertainment - Yashika Mathur

Actor Rasika Dugal (left) has planned a dastangoi performance — an art of storytelling without the use of props, entries or exits — for the cast of her next, which is helmed by filmmaker Nandita Das. Rasika, who will be narrating the dastaan, feels her team will thoroughly enjoy the performance.

“When I used to be a ‘Dastango’ (storyteller), there was this dastaan (story) on Manto called Mantoiyat. It is a beautiful piece of writing and it was one of my favourite dastaans. I revisited it during my preparation for the film and I feel it is a piece that everyone working on the film must watch,” says Rasika.

The actor will be planning an evening for the cast and crew of the film, soon after wrapping up the shoot of the film. She feels that her team would be able to connect with her performance due to the subject she has chosen.

In her next, she plays the wife of Urdu playwright and author Saadat Hasan Manto.
