Actor Shamata Anchan (above), who shot to fame with the TV show Everest, considers herself lucky to have got the opportunity to work with actor Abhay Deol (inset) in her debut film, The Field. Shamata, who plays the role of Abhay’s wife in the film, shares how his support was a great comfort while they were shooting romantic sequences. She says, “I was slightly nervous as it was my first film, but Abhay made me [feel] comfortable.”

“He made sure that we discuss the scenes before facing the camera and that really helped. I was not really comfortable doing them, but Abhay came up to me and explained how things work I feel we share a good on-screen chemistry,” the actor adds.

Shamata, who is a fan of Abhay, says, “When I was offered the role opposite him, I just grabbed it without thinking twice. Even when I was not shooting, I would watch him enact his part as there was so much to learn.” The film has been shot in Mumbai and Delhi, and also stars Ronit Roy, Neeraj Kabi and Brendan Fraser.
