Thurman (above), who is best known for her action role in Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill film series, said the movie has had a positive impact on women. The 47-year-old actor played Beatrix Kiddo in the movies, who seeks out revenge for the murder of her friends and her fiance.

During an on-stage interview at a film festival, Thurman said that women have told her how the film has changed their lives. She said, “The film has helped them — whether they were feeling oppressed or struggling or had a bad boyfriend or felt badly about themselves.”

The actor added, “The film released in them some survival energy that was helpful, and that is probably one of the most gratifying things that I have ever experienced in response to a piece of art.”
