Saif Ali Khan’s cool look in a thrilling dark com­edy

Af­ter Go Goa Gone (2013), which saw him sport blonde hair and mouth a fake ac­cent, ac­tor Saif Ali Khan has got a com­pletely new look for Kaalakaandi. The teaser of the film is be­ing launched to­day.

The film also marks the di­rec­to­rial de­but of Ak­shat Verma, the writer of Delhi Belly (2011). A source says, “Kaalakaandi is a thrilling dark com­edy that fea­tures six char­ac­ters from different walks of life. The film is a rau­cous tale about life, death and karma, which un­folds one monsoon night in Mum­bai.”

Saif had ear­lier said in a state­ment: “Kaalakaandi is a film I’m so happy to be a part of. It is a cross-sec­tion of Mum­bai with goons, doomed bankers, and ide­al­is­tic lovers all mixed to­gether in this karmic tale about love, crime and liv­ing a life­time in one night. Ak­shat has writ­ten and di­rected this unique movie and he’s prob­a­bly the only voice who tells it ex­actly like it ac­tu­ally is.”

Pro­duced by Cines­taan Film Com­pany and Ashi Dua Sara of Fly­ing Uni­corn, the film stars Saif Ali Khan along with an en­sem­ble cast of Deepak Do­briyal, Vi­jay Raaz, Ku­nal Roy Ka­pur, Sob­hita Dhuli­pala, Ak­shay Oberoi, Isha Tal­war, Shenaz Trea­sury, Shivam Patil and Amyra Das­tur. Neil Bhoopalam makes a spe­cial ap­pear­ance in the film, which is set to re­lease on Septem­ber 8.
