Actor Anushka Sharma (left) says it was the fun-filled character of Geet — played by actor Kareena Kapoor Khan — in Imtiaz Ali’s film, Jab We Met (2007), that attracted her to the world of movies.

“I’ve been waiting to work with Imtiaz for the longest time. I remember watching Jab We Met in Bikaner with my parents and I felt ‘This is an amazing film’ ... Looking at athe character of Geet, I felt I should be doing films,” says Anushka.

Her upcoming film, Jab Harry Met Sejal (JHMS), was the first movie to be offered to Anushka by Imtiaz, and she liked the idea so much that she accepted it immediately. “I enjoyed collaborating with him for JHMS,” she says.

The film marks the third collaboration between Anushka and actor Shah Rukh Khan, after Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008; her debut film) and Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012). Asked about her first meeting with SRK, Anushka says he made her feel at ease on the sets. “I knew him as Shah Rukh, the superstar, and I was going to do a romantic film with him. When we met, he congratulated me, was chilled out and made me feel comfortable. He wasn’t intimidating,” says the 29-year-old, adding, “Later I realised that he was such a big support system for me.”
