He has proved his acting prowess with his first film. And now, actor Mohit Marwah is all set to portray a real-life character on reel in his second film,

Raagdesh.

The film is based on the historic Red Fort trials of officers of the Indian National Army (INA), which was formed by Subhas Chandra Bose to free India from British rule. Mohit will be seen as Colonel Prem Sehgal, one of the members of the INA.

Speaking about why he chose this role, the 32-year-old actor says, “I’ve always had a strong patriotic streak in me. The patriotism of our soldiers, who perform selfless service for our country with great dedication, never ceases to amaze me.” Besides the chance to portray the role of an army man, it was also the storyline that intrigued Mohit. “Raagdesh has an inspiring storyline based on a true incident which happened pre-Independence, and this is a story that needs to be told,” he adds. The film also stars actors Kunal Kapoor as Major Shah Nawaz Khan and Amit Sadh as Col. Gurbaksh Singh Dhillon.

Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia and produced by Gurdeep Singh Sappal, Raagdesh releases today.
