For Ashish Chowdhry, TV is better than films

Hindustan Times (Patna) - Live - - Entertainment -

Dhamaal actor Ashish Chowdhry (below) who is all set to play the lead role in a TV series, says that the medium is as good or even better than films. In the past few years, the actor has been focussing more on TV shows than films.

Asked if he misses doing films in bulk, he says, “No, not really. I was slotted as a comedy actor in cinema. When people appreciate you as a comedy actor, producers and directors will also offer you that kind of role. However, unless you are one of the top three heroes of Bollywood, I believe television is as good or even better than films. I was not one of them. So I want to make a mark on TV.”

Apart from the show, he also has two films in the pipeline, Battle for Bittora and Total Dhamaal.

In his show, Ashish will play a detective, with shades of grey. “There is a back story of the character that will make you ‘feel’ for him. His present actions are the result of past incidents and he does not show his emotions,” he says.
