This is Us loses Emmy nomination
The popular drama show, This Is Us, has lost one of its 11 Emmy nominations after the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences decided to disqualify its submission for “outstanding contemporary costumes for a series, limited series, or movie.”
According to the Television Academy, to be eligible for a nomination in the category, a show must submit an episode in which at least 51 percent of the action must take place within the past 25 years. The NBC hit drama's majority of the episode did not take place in the required contemporary time period.
Having reviewed the Moonshadow episode (the season- finale episode of This Is Us, the Awards Committee noted that the entrant unfortunately miscalculated the proportion of scenes that were period versus contemporary. In fact, the episode is predominately period.
