ARA: Members of the Akhil Bhartiya Rashtravadi Kisan Sangathan (ABRKS) on Sunday called for unity among labourers and farmers.

Addressing a farmers’ meet at Korandihri village under Sahar block, national president of ABRKS, Indu Bhushan talked about various problems being faced by farmers and labourers. He said the government spends only 2% on agriculture, despite the fact that 80% farmers in the state were dependant on it. He also indicated about a new political equation in the near future.

Devendra Singh, the district spokesperson of the association, said ABRKS would work for the unity among labourers and farmers.

He said the organisa tion would try its best to call Dipankar Bhattacharya, the general secretary of CPI-ML, on the same platform.

Earlier, the chief guest and BJP leader, Bisheshwar Ojha said whenever a society went into sleeping stage, the evil power become dominant. There was a need of awakening in the society so that no such power could raise its head, he said.

Recalling the moments spent with late Barmeshwar Mukhiya, Ojha said the killers of Mukhiya were roaming free and people have the power to check them. Congress MLC Jyoti Devi alleged that the state government was responsible for the killing of Barmeshwar Mukhiya.

The function was presided over by Nand Kishore Pandey, the president of the village committee of the organisation and conducted by Pintu Singh.
